Brackish water aquarium is a fascinating “middle ground” between freshwater and saltwater setups. It replicates environments like estuaries and mangrove swamps where rivers meet the sea, allowing you to keep some of the most unique and intelligent fish in the hobby. While it requires a bit more planning than a standard freshwater tank, it is generally much simpler and less expensive than a full marine aquarium.
